Tradition has it that Black soap also known as Alata Samina, came from Nigeria to Ghana by way of the Yoruba women.  Depending on where it is developed determines how deep the color is.  True black soap, however, is all natural coming from the earth cocoa pods, plantain skins, palm oil with no chemicals.
